Beginning 2/13/10 and running through 2/20/10, enter your favorite story about your dog.

Once all submissions have been received, voting will be held on 2/21/10.

Top prize is a $15 Amazon.com gift card and the runner-up will receive a $10 gift card.

Here's what's required: a valid email address (to sign-up and to receive the prize directly from Amazon) and, if not already a member, registration.

The story can be anything that your dog has done - it can be heartwarming, funny, inspiring - whatever you think is best. Dog Academy members will vote and the winner will be announced 2/22/10.

Styling on the Walk

Deuce was lively and animated last night. "We" decided to for a walk. He grabbed his Jack (plush dog toy) and headed right out the door with it. The sight of him walking the neighborhood with it hanging out of his mouth made me laugh so hard I nearly cried. It was one of the most enjoyable walks ever.

Walked by without growling or causing trouble

I'm excited. I took my girlfriend's dog out for a walk. He's a Chow and usually very aggressive when he's out on a walk. She said he growls and even lunges at other dogs that bother him. I decided to walk him anyway. I followed all the rules (made him sit before getting his leash attached, made him wait until he calmed down, made him wait at the door while I walked out first, and I didn't project a sense of worry when I saw other dogs) and he was great! He stayed cool and collected and walked by 3 dogs without growling. My girlfriend couldn't believe it when I told her. It's amazing how much of a difference the little things make.:w00t:

Feeling Better

My people are happy this week. I've been struggling a little bit with movement as I'm getting older and my bones are kind of achy. I had a lot of trouble last week when I was lying down (I'd cry out in pain it hurt so dang much and then pace around). But I went into the vet and got a Rx to help reduce the swelling. I am feeling much better now and my people are happy to see me acting like my old self, which is a slightly crazy Malamute.;)

Over the weekend I visited a friend who has 3 dogs that are all exuberant door greeters. I have to admit that I think that's a lot of fun - kind of like being a celebrity. How many of you guys think it's fun to be bombarded with furry friends when you come home?:)

Our Golden gets so excited that she knocks everyone's beverages over when her tail gets waggin! Is there any special coaster that attaches to a table to prevent such spills? Maybe one with a cup stabilizer?
